The first stage in any design process involves meeting the client to discuss their requirements and, most importantly, to consider their budget.
Photographs are taken of the garden, along with measurements of the overall site. Clients have the opportunity to view my portfolio together with a scrapbook of garden styles, covering everything from contemporary minimalist design to a more traditional cottage style garden.
A convenient follow-up meeting is arranged and, based on my understanding of a client’s wish-list, I will produce and present a number of concept sketches.
The fee for this consultation service and drawings can be as little as £230 for a small to medium sized garden in the Sale or Altrincham area. Contact me for full information on this unique service.
Tailor-made Services
For some clients, the 'Essential Design Package' is all that's required to bring an idea to life. However, most clients also choose to proceed further and opt for one or more of the additional tailor made services:
Full design services including sketches, mood boards, final plans and project management support.
Planting plans for single borders or whole gardens.
Plants sourced from high quality nurseries and planted in your garden.
Maintenance plans.
Follow up visits and advice on pruning and general care of your plants.
Gift vouchers for family and friends.
For clients who wish to go ahead with a bespoke design, I will prepare a quotation based on the chosen combination of tailor-made options. This is sent to you along with a ‘client brief’ detailing my understanding of the requirements discussed.
If the quotation is acceptable, a site survey is carried out which includes soil analysis and positioning of service pipes, along with detailed measurements of your garden. If the site is large or complex I may recommend that a surveyor undertakes a full site survey before proceeding further.
After the survey has been completed, I will work with you to develop your preferred design and planting scheme. Once the final details have been agreed I produce a scaled presentation plan along with detailed notes for the purposes of obtaining quotes from landscape contractors. These notes are equally important to aid the understanding of the design whilst the work is being carried out and, if required, I can also provide project management support. I always suggest a minimum of three quotes are obtained and are happy to suggest reputable local firms if required.
